Being an IB World School, Pio X International offers the IB Diploma Programme (IB DP, the third of four programmes supported by IBO), leading to a qualification recognised by university as entrance diploma.
Depending on the set of subjects studied, the I DP may have the official recognition of “Maturità Scientifica” or “Maturità Linguistica” from the Italian Ministry of Education (equipollenza).

The IB Diploma Programme Curriculum
“The IB Diploma Programme is flexible enough to accommodate the needs and interests of individual students while maintaining the principle of concurrent learning of a broad and balanced curriculum. (…)
Students are expected to to build a degree of interdisciplinary as well as subject-specific understanding.”
Students choose one subject from each of 5 groups in which the Diploma Programme is divided (Studies in Language and Literature, Language acquisition, Individuals and Societies, Sciences, Mathematics).
They also need a sixth subject, chosen either from group 6 (an Art subject), or a second subject from groups 1 to 5.
Three of them should be chosen at High Level (HL), three of them at Standard Level (SL)
In addition, the Diploma Programme features three core elements that broaden students’ educational experience and challenge them to apply their knowledge and skills: the Extended Essay (EE), Theory of
Knowledge (TOK) and Creativity, Action, Service (CAS).
